A Celebration of the Art of Papercutting
June 27 - September 1
Traditional German scherenschnitte, Polish wycinanki, Victorian paper lace cuttings, multi-layered paper creations, and works based on a fusion of paper cutting and watercolors will be among the attractions presented by Fox Run at Orchard Park beginning June 27.
This unique and highly skilled show will feature the work of twelve artists from Western New York, Pennsylvania, and Vermont. They include members of the Guild of American Papercutters (GAP), the Berks Art Alliance, Laurel Arts Organization, and Somerset County Artists Association in Pennsylvania, and the Killington Arts Guild, the Northeast Kingdom Artisans Guild, Vermont Folk Life Center, and Vermont Craft Council.
An opening reception for this exhibit, called “Paper Cuts” will be held Thursday, June 29, from 6:00pm to 7:30pm, with a presentation at 6:30pm by local organizer and GAP Board of Directors member, Mr. Dave Reichard.
This show is open to the public at Fox Run in the Gyda Higgins Art Gallery, June 27 – September 1.
